The vision for PACKTIONERY started back in 2019, when our founder was in Grade 7. His Economic & Management Sciences teacher challenged us to come up with a business idea, and deep down, he always knew he wanted to do this — at first for entrepreneurial reasons.

But his reason changed in January 2024. His father paid over R3,000 for his matric stationery and textbooks. He remembers feeling guilty, knowing his father didn’t have a choice — it was his final year, and stationery is non-negotiable. That was just one year. Multiply it by 12 years of schooling, plus uniforms, fees, transport… education costs add up fast.

Now, as a Civil Engineering student, he's seen another side of it. In his first 9 months at university, he noticed students arriving with the bare minimum — some repeating the same clothes during the week, not by choice, but because every cent counts. That hit him hard, and that's when he drew the line.
